Descom improved its ranking on Finland's Great Place to Work List
The Great Place to Work® Institute Finland performs a survey every year and publishes a list of the 50 most successful workplaces in the business newspaper Talouselämä. On the 2012 list, Descom rose to 18th place, 5 positions higher than last year’s ranking at 23rd. The Trust Index, which measures the company’s internal credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie, also rose from 80 to 84.
“Descom has an impressive ability to build a culture of trust, even amidst change. Even with corporate acquisitions and powerful growth last year, the company has ranked higher on the list. I am sure we will still hear a lot about this pride of Jyväskylä in the future,” says Toni Eskola, consultant of the Great Place to Work Institute.
Trust is the foundation
Descom has participated in the survey since 2010. HR Manager Minna Liminka feels that the annual survey is important because it offers fresh information about the personnel’s work atmosphere and tools for developing well-being at work.
“Naturally, we are very happy about our success. But it doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels. We have great people, and it is most important to maintain a culture of trust. Our personnel must always feel that they are genuinely listened to,” Liminka says.
Descom is keeping the flags flying for businesses in Central Finland. In the general category of the Great Place to Work Finland survey, Descom was the only company from Jyväskylä on the list and the best company in Central Finland.
